The existing porch structure was no longer sound. Primary framing members had deteriorated significantly, with wood components breaking down and losing their ability to carry load.

Temporary shoring had to be installed to support the roof during demolition, highlighting the extent of the structural failure. At this stage, repair was not a viable option — a full rebuild was required to ensure safety and longevity.

We began with a controlled demolition, removing the failing porch while stabilizing the roof structure with temporary supports.

Given the heritage nature of the property, the goal was not to redesign, but to rebuild in kind. We preserved the original footprint, maintained the traditionally sloped roofline, and matched the scale and detailing of the existing porch.
