The Objective

The existing deck had served its purpose, but the space lacked scale, structure, and intentional layout. It didn’t fully take advantage of the yard or provide a strong connection to the home.

The goal was not repair — it was a complete refresh. A larger, more functional deck with defined features, better flow, and a stronger overall presence.

Our Approach

We redesigned the space from the ground up, expanding the footprint to create an airy deck that feels like a natural extension of the house.

A custom pergola-style entry feature was added at the main stair to frame access and give the deck a clear focal point. The railing system was kept open with black balusters to maintain visibility while adding contrast to the wood structure.

Built-in bench seating was integrated along the perimeter to maximize usability without cluttering the main deck area.

The layout was carefully planned to work with the existing grade and surrounding landscape, ensuring clean transitions and comfortable access.
